Common questions

I can't sign in

Go to the sign-in page and use the email address on your account. If that doesn't work, send us a message from that address.

I'm asked to verify my email

Accounts need a verified email address. Look for the verification email, including in your spam folder. If it hasn't arrived, send us a message.

How do I change my username or profile?

Sign in and open your account page. Your username, display name, bio and photo are all changed there.

How do I delete my account?

Use the delete option on your account page. This can't be undone. Your forum posts and corrections stay, credited to a deleted member.

Why can't I post a link?

To limit spam, new accounts can't post links and can post less often. This ends once your account is 3 days old and has 3 visible posts.

A record looks wrong

Send a correction with links to your evidence. An editor checks every correction against its sources.

A forum post breaks the rules

Use Report on the post, and a moderator will review it.
