Terms of use

FALK records are provisional research judgments based on the sources each record cites. They are not professional, legal, financial or buying advice, and not a verdict on the quality, value or authenticity of any watch or company.

Statements on a record report what a cited source says. FALK does not inspect watches or factories and cannot guarantee that a source, or our reading of it, is correct, complete or current. Check the sources before relying on a record.

The site and data are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the site or its data, including indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

When you send a correction, evidence, photograph or other contribution to the records, you confirm you have the right to share it, and you license it to FALK and everyone else under CC BY-SA 4.0, the licence the data is already published under. Editors may edit, combine, decline or remove contributions.

If someone brings a claim against FALK because your contribution broke these terms, you agree to cover the resulting losses and reasonable legal costs, to the extent the law allows.

Contact details you give with a correction are kept private for editors and are not part of the published contribution.

Forum posts are the views of the people who write them, not of FALK or its publisher. They are not FALK records, and they are not part of the published dataset.

You keep ownership of what you post, and you confirm you have the right to share it. You give the publisher a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, copy and display it as part of the forum, including after you delete your account. These terms, including the promise above to cover losses, apply to forum posts as well.

Only attach images you have the right to share. Do not attach images that are illegal, or that show someone's private information without their permission.

Moderators can hide posts, threads and images, and lock threads. Hidden material is kept in our records rather than deleted, and is no longer shown to readers. The exception is an image that must not be kept, which an administrator can delete permanently.

Do not submit material that is false or misleading on purpose, infringes someone else's rights, is unlawful, abusive or spam, or contains other people's personal information. Do not try to disrupt the site, get around its limits, or access accounts or data that are not yours. Automated reading of the public pages is fine at a polite rate; the full dataset is on the data page.

We may moderate, edit or remove any contribution, and suspend or close any account, at our discretion.

The CC BY-SA 4.0 licence covers FALK's own data and writing. Quoted excerpts and images from other sources remain with their owners and are not licensed by FALK.

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email support@falkindex.com with: the work concerned; the address of the material on this site; your name, postal address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature.

We will remove or disable material when we receive a complete notice, and tell the contributor if there is one. A contributor who believes the removal was a mistake can send a counter-notice to the same address, with the details required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
